Highways - Senior New Business Manager – Local Authorities
📍 Home-based (UK) | Regular client travel | 2 days per month in North Yorkshire HQ
We’re expanding our sales team to support continued growth and are hiring a Senior New Business Manager to drive new business across English Local Highways Authorities, alongside wider public sector opportunities.
This is a senior, strategic new business role focused on converting well-qualified authority-level opportunities into long-term customer relationships. Success will come from disciplined pipeline progression, strong stakeholder engagement, and confident navigation of regulated procurement environments.
What You’ll Do
* Own the end-to-end conversion of UK local authority opportunities
* Build and manage a structured short-, medium- and long-term pipeline
* Engage senior public-sector stakeholders and secure executive sponsorship
* Navigate governance and procurement processes with confidence
* Lead high-quality proposals, bids, tenders, RFIs and RFQs
* Maintain accurate forecasting and CRM reporting
* Deliver against individual sales targets
What We’re Looking For
* 5+ years’ new business experience selling into UK local authorities
* Strong understanding of public-sector governance and procurement
* Experience managing long, complex sales cycles
* Background in technical, infrastructure, asset management or data-led services (desirable)
* Confident communicator with strong commercial acumen
* Highly organised, results-driven and credible at senior level
* Full UK driving licence
