Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs? We are seeking a kind, patient and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated team as soon as possible, supporting pupils to achieve their potential both academically and socially.
Duties as a SEN Teaching Assistant:
* Work closely with individual pupils or small groups with additional needs, including those with EHCPs.
* Support children with a range of needs such as autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or social/emotional needs.
* Assist the class teacher in creating a positive, inclusive learning environment.
* Adapt resources and learning tasks to suit individual needs.
* Provide personal care and supervision as required.
* Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
Ideal SEN Teaching Assistant:
* Experience working with children with special educational needs (desirable).
* A nurturing, empathetic and flexible approach to supporting pupils.
* A good understanding of safeguarding and behaviour management as a SEN Teaching Assistant.
* Strong literacy and numeracy skills (GCSEs or equivalent).
* A willingness to learn and undertake relevant training (e.g. Team Teach, SEND strategies).
* A team player who is committed to the values and ethos of inclusive education.
