Faculty of Arts and Humanities Sainsbury Institute for the Study of Arts and Cultures Professor in Art and Cultural Heritage Ref: ATR1717 Salary on appointment will be £69,488 per annum pro rata with an annual increment up to £73,709 per annum pro rata. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Professor to join the Sainsbury Institute for the Study of Japanese Arts and Cultures to play a major role in helping to shape the engagement and impact agenda of the Sainsbury Institute. You will have a proven track record in research, postgraduate teaching, leadership and innovation. You will have a prominent role in the research life of the Sainsbury Institute, producing high quality research publications and proposals to secure external funding and contributing to the Institute's submission to the next Research Excellence Framework (REF 2029). You will advise and assist Sainsbury Institute on the planning and delivery of its engagement and impact strategy, and you will lead the development of specific case studies together with the other academic staff of the Institute. You will also supervise, co-supervise and examine PhD dissertations as required. You will be expected to maintain a high profile as a leader in your academic field and promote enterprise and engagement at UEA. A PhD (or equivalent) in art history, culture or heritage, with substantial experience of BA, MA teaching and PhD supervision is essential. You will have experience in designing and implementing engagement and impact agendas, and a successful track record of identifying and preparing impact case studies for REF and a demonstrable experience of enterprise and engagement. An international reputation as an outstanding scholar in arts and cultural heritage, with evidence of having contributed to the development of your discipline is also key. This part-time (0.2 FTE) post is available immediately on an indefinite basis.
