At Bath & North East Somerset Council we have one overriding purpose to improve people’s lives.
This is a 5 Year Fixed Term Contract until 31/12/2030.
About the Fashion Museum Bath
Fashion Museum Bath (FMB) holds one of the world’s leading collections of fashion, spanning 400 years of human creativity, from 1600 to the present day. It is an exciting time for the Fashion Museum as we undertake a major project to open a new state-of-the 21st-century museum, comprising galleries and learning spaces, and showcasing more of our extraordinary collection than ever before.
About the Role
We are seeking to appoint a Learning and Engagement Officer, a key role in the FMB team who will actively contribute to the Museum’s development. The main purpose of the role is to ensure our programmes are accessible, welcoming, dynamic and enjoyable. A significant focus will be engaging those who may experience barriers to connecting and engaging with museums in the region.
This programme helps support equitable access and is a key driver in relation to social impact and contributes significantly to the museum’s civic responsibility.
About You
You will have demonstrable experience of working with community organisations in a museum, gallery, cultural institution or visitor attraction and have a keen interest in Fashion.
You will understand the importance of, and have strong commitment to, the social function of museums as inclusive and welcoming spaces which can positively impact the world around them.
Your work schedule will be hybrid, split between the office in Bath, working across a range of community settings throughout B&NES and home.
Our Values
At Bath and North East Somerset Council, we uphold values of being Bold, Empowered, Supportive, and Transparent. We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds who share our commitment to these principles.
