We are seeking a motivated and experienced Scrub Theatre Practitioner Team Leader capable of scrubbing for procedures across various specialties.
This role involves leading and coordinating the theatre team to ensure smooth daily operations and effective functioning, with an emphasis on communication and fostering a positive work environment. Delivering high standards of patient safety and quality care is a priority.
You will support the training and development of team members, uphold professional standards aligned with departmental policies and specialty requirements, and demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills. A commitment to excellent patient care and effective team collaboration, based on evidence-based practice, is essential. The post holder must serve as an expert resource for clinical staff and students, participating actively in supervision, training, and support of learners in Theatre.
The successful candidate will provide leadership within the theatre team, maintain high standards of practice and care, and work alongside the Theatre management team to support departmental development and positive change.
Main duties of the job
* Provide expert guidance and support as a competent clinical practitioner, ensuring clinical decisions prioritize professionalism and patient safety.
* Consistently deliver high-quality, safe, and effective patient care in compliance with Trust policies, protocols, and SOPs, while monitoring and improving clinical outcomes.
* Manage daily theatre operations, including scheduling, staffing, equipment, and resources to optimize theatre efficiency and patient throughput.
* Act as deputy for the theatre coordinator as needed, maintaining service continuity and demonstrating leadership to uphold standards.
* Maintain current clinical competencies through ongoing professional development, adapting to the evolving needs of the service and Trust objectives.
