The Security Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in strengthening our security frameworks, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and proactively mitigating risks to protect our assets and reputation.
In this role, you'll oversee Security Operations and Security Engineering, manage incident response, and lead a team of security experts to ensure the highest level of protection for MIB. You'll collaborate closely with IT, legal, and compliance teams, demonstrating strong leadership to drive security initiatives and foster a culture of security awareness across MIB.
Key Responsibilities
1. Security Operations Oversight: Oversee daily security operations, including monitoring, threat analysis, and vulnerability management, with regular reporting to the Head of Information Security and the Executive Security Steering Group.
2. Compliance and Risk Management: Work with the Group Privacy Office, Risk, and Audit functions to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards. Support the Head of Information Security in conducting risk assessments and ensuring security controls align with risk appetite and requirements.
3. Strategic Planning: Assist in developing and implementing strategic security plans to enhance MIB's security posture and resilience.
4. Operational Resilience: Identify areas within Security Operations to support the business on operational resilience efforts.
5. Incident Response Management: Lead and coordinate incident response efforts from a security perspective, ensuring timely resolution of security incidents.
6. Budget Management: Support the management of the security budget, including resource allocation, cost-saving initiatives, and vendor relationships.
Qualifications and Skills
* Proven experience in leading Security Operations and Security Engineering teams, with mentoring and leadership skills.
* Experience in budget management and control.
* Extensive experience in security incident response leadership.
* Relevant advanced security qualifications such as CISSP, GIAC.
* Vendor-specific training for endpoint and networking security solutions is highly desirable.
* Strong understanding of networking principles and security policies.
* Excellent communication skills to articulate complex security concepts to stakeholders.
* Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
Salary and Benefits
Salary: £90,000 per annum
Grade: 14
IT kit supplied; £320 start-up allowance (pre-tax); Hybrid working (2 days in the office per week) in Milton Keynes, MK14.
