The School and Role
A well-regarded Secondary School in Everton, Liverpool, is currently seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Design Technology Teacher with a specialism in Woodwork and Resistant Materials to join their forward-thinking DT department. The successful candidate will be teaching Key Stage 3 and 4 and supporting the practical, hands-on curriculum that inspires creativity and technical confidence in students.
The school has a strong reputation for academic excellence and a commitment to pastoral care. Rated ‘Good’ in its last Ofsted inspection, it has been praised for its inclusive ethos and strong interdepartmental collaboration that helps students make meaningful cross-curricular links.
Role Responsibilities:
Teach engaging DT lessons in woodwork and resistant materials across KS3 & KS4
Maintain a safe and stimulating workshop environment
Track and report student progress
Manage tools, materials, and uphold health & safety standards
Requirements
To be considered for this Design Technology Teacher position, candidates must have:
QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent recognised UK teaching qualification
Proven experience teaching woodwork and resistant materials in a secondary setting
A clear understanding of Health & Safety regulations in workshop environments
Excellent communication, classroom management, and organisational skills
A passion for design, innovation, and inspiring young people
An Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or be willing to obtain one)
