Principal Water Civil Engineer

We’re looking to appoint an outstanding Principal Water Civil Engineer to join our innovative, dynamic, and well-established team in London, supporting our continued growth and future ambitions.

If you answered yes, we want to hear from you! At Pick Everard, the supply, management, and disposal of water are central to our work. We proudly have a vast pipeline of projects for clients including Severn Trent Water, Thames Water, Yorkshire Water, and the Government of Jersey.
As an integral part of our team, you will play a key role in delivering wastewater infrastructure projects, including flood alleviation, network pumping stations, CSO storage, and upgrades. Your core responsibilities will include:
1. Leading technical design from feasibility to construction across various project types and complexities.
2. Managing and mentoring a design sub-team, including planning and resource coordination.
3. Supporting the design of pumping stations, water networks, surface water systems, and sustainable infrastructure.
Other responsibilities include mentoring junior team members, supporting their development, attending client meetings, contributing to winning new work, and assisting with project and team management by offering innovative, sustainable, low-carbon solutions. Ensuring compliance with health & safety requirements is also essential.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
* A degree or equivalent in civil engineering, working towards a professional qualification.
* CEng with post-chartered relevant experience or IEng with post-incorporated relevant experience in wastewater.
* Experience managing wastewater and/or clean water infrastructure schemes.
* Proficiency with industry design software packages.
* Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented, positive attitude.
* Strong report writing and presentation skills at the project level.
* Experience with various contract types and client liaison skills.
* Robust problem-solving skills and accountability for work.
Previous experience in report writing, client interaction, and work winning is desirable but not essential. We encourage you to apply even if you do not meet every criterion, as your experience might be a great fit for this role or others in our team.
