Design Technician
Location: Hull — Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm — Salary: £37,000 - £45,000
The Role
We are seeking a skilled Design Technician to join a growing engineering and manufacturing environment, supporting the delivery of bespoke technical projects from concept through to production. This is a hands‑on design role where you'll work closely with project and manufacturing teams to develop accurate, high‑quality models and drawings that support real‑world fabrication and installation. You'll play a key role in turning client specifications into practical, manufacturable solutions while maintaining high technical and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Produce accurate 3D models and detailed 2D manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks
* Develop design solutions that align with project requirements and manufacturing capability
* Prepare drawing packs for approval and production
* Revise designs in line with feedback from internal teams and clients
* Support manufacturing teams with clear and accurate technical documentation
* Maintain drawing standards and version control
* Assist with design improvements and technical problem‑solving
Requirements
* Essential: Strong SolidWorks experience (3D modelling and manufacturing drawings)
* Experience in a design or engineering role within manufacturing or construction
* Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
* Strong attention to detail and technical accuracy
* Good communication skills and team collaboration
