TPF Recruitment, we are proud to be supporting a leading accountancy practice in their search for an Audit Assistant Manager / Manager with a passion for the Charity and Not for Profit sector.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Audit Assistant Manager or Manager who is either already specialising in the Charity and Not for Profit sector or looking to do so. You will manage a rewarding portfolio of clients, lead audit assignments from planning to completion and play an active role in supporting both clients and communities.

As Charity & Not for Profit Audit Manager, you will oversee a specialist portfolio of clients, manage workflow and budgets, lead and develop audit teams and support business development initiatives. This is a strategic and rewarding role offering strong progression and the opportunity to make a real impact.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Office Management
• Ensure the planning, prioritising and allocation of all relevant client audit work to maintain effective workflow
• Establish scope and budget for each audit assignment and ensure teams are appropriately briefed
• Ensure audit work is completed in line with agreed budgets and internal quality standards
• Monitor progress across all assignments and maintain communication with clients and internal stakeholders
• Proactively identify opportunities to maximise audit efficiency and improve processes
• Ensure all compliance requirements including AML, KYC reviews and engagement letters are in place
Team Management
• Lead day to day audit team management responsibilities
• Set clear objectives for audit teams at the start of each assignment
• Coach, mentor and develop audit team members to maximise performance
• Monitor team and individual performance against objectives and KPIs
• Provide regular feedback, recognition and development support
• Support recruitment and professional development of audit team members
Portfolio and Client Management
• Manage and develop a specialist portfolio of charity and not for profit clients
• Act as a key point of contact for clients across audit and other service requirements
• Attend and lead audit planning, review and close down meetings
• Research and resolve complex or higher risk audit issues for upward communication
• Proactively contact clients with relevant updates, insights and added value opportunities
• Maintain high levels of service and maximise client advocacy and fee levels
Business Development and Expansion
• Build and develop your own network of intermediaries and prospects
• Generate referrals from your client base and convert prospects into new business
• Support departmental fee growth through networking, pitches, webinars and article writing
• Build strong internal relationships to encourage cross selling of services
• Represent the firm within the Charity and Not for Profit sector and wider professional network
• Develop your technical or sector specialism across the service line
Requirements
Skills and Experience Required
• Previous experience within audit, ideally at Assistant Manager or Manager level
• Strong experience working with charity and not for profit clients, or a genuine interest in specialising
• ACA or ACCA qualified
• Strong leadership and people management ability
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills
• Commercial awareness and business development capability
• Confident handling complex audit assignments and technical issues

Benefits: The salary for this role is expected to be circa £45,000 - £55,000 depending on experience and previous seniority.
