Overview
The Community Paediatric Neurodevelopmental Service is seeking a Consultant Community Paediatrician. The ideal applicant will have experience of all aspects of community paediatrics including child development, ASD, ADHD, neurodisability, Children Looked After, children in need and children with special educational needs.
Responsibilities
You will work independently within a supportive team, with multi‑agency and multidisciplinary collaboration encouraged. There are no on‑call or acute responsibilities attached to this post, but opportunities to interact with acute colleagues at Royal Lancaster Infirmary and South Cumbria ensure an integrated approach to child health. You will also collaborate with therapy colleagues, integrated children’s community nursing team, school nursing and health visiting via Virgin Care, and education staff.
Qualifications
* Full GMC registration with a license to practice.
* Entry on the Specialist Register, or anticipation of receipt of CCT/Professional Portfolio (CESR) within six months of interview.
* Experience in community paediatrics, including child development, ASD, ADHD, neurodisability, Children Looked After, children in need, and children with special educational needs.
Professional Development and Support
Additional training will be available for any areas where the successful candidate has less experience. Career progression is supported and encouraged through a named supervisor, mentoring, annual appraisal and job planning. The service is part of University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust, which operates from Furness General Hospital, Royal Lancaster Infirmary and Westmorland General Hospital, as well as community premises across Morecambe Bay.
