Generous Occupational Pension Scheme About the role This is an exciting opportunity to lead a high-profile curriculum area at the heart of our partnerships with professional sports organisations, with growing provision in esports and uniformed services. The Curriculum and Standards Manager (CSM) for Sport and Uniformed Services (including Esports) will lead a team of staff to deliver high quality teaching, learning, and assessment in a range of vocational, A Level and higher education qualifications. Reporting to the Assistant Director: Business and Professional, you will be a member of the College Leadership Team, responsible for high quality delivery of all Sport, Esports, and Uniformed Services courses. You will lead a team of circa 25 direct delivery staff, providing them all with the necessary support and direction they need to deliver excellent teaching and learning. A central aspect of the role is strengthening and developing our high-impact partnerships, including our established relationships with York City FC and York Knights Rugby League. You will help shape the future of our successful Development Centres with both clubs and contribute significantly to the design and delivery of our subcontracted programmes with football league partners. About the person You will be an ambitious and motivated leader with a strong background in Sport and/or Uniformed Services, and a relevant degree-level qualification. You'll bring proven experience in leading or supporting curriculum delivery, with a track record of raising standards, improving learner outcomes, and developing high-performing teams. You will be confident in providing clear direction, holding staff to account, and offering the guidance and support required for them to thrive. You will also have the ability to build effective external partnerships, ideally with experience of working with or alongside professional sports organisations.
