You will also take responsibility for the catering operation in the absence of the Catering Manager.This is a hands-on role within a high-volume environment, requiring strong leadership, organisational skills, and a passion for food quality and service.Key ResponsibilitiesEnforce all relevant statutory, company, and site Health & Safety compliance, including monitoring related equipmentSupport and lead catering employees to perform their roles to a high standard in line with Sodexo policies and proceduresAssist the Executive Chef in ensuring food quality, hygiene, and compliance throughout the food cycle in line with HACCP standardsEnsure the timely preparation and delivery of meals to agreed standardsMaintain stock levels in line with agreed targets and manage purchasing through Sodexo-nominated suppliersEnsure preparation, production, and presentation of food meets Sodexo standards and proceduresMonitor financial documentation to ensure accuracy and adherence to budgetIdentify opportunities for sales growth within the contract and wider marketEnsure all equipment is safe, regularly checked, serviced, and not used if faultyMaintain the security of equipment, monies, and the overall establishmentDeputise for the Catering Manager when required, ensuring a professional and customer-focused service is deliveredEnsure compliance with all Health & Safety, hygiene, fire safety, COSHH, and safe working practicesThis list is not exhaustive but provides an outline of the role.AccountabilitiesFull compliance with company and client policies, statutory regulations, and Health & Safety standardsDelivery of services in line with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Timely completion of P&L reporting with performance exceeding company targetsContinuous service development and improvementPositive client relationships and high levels of client satisfactionAchievement of strong unit audit scoresStaff recruitment and retention in line with company guidelinesDelivery of all internal compliance standardsWhat We're Looking ForLevel 2 Food Safety and Level 2 Health & Safety qualifications (essential)Proven experience managing a section in a high-volume catering environmentRelevant craft and Health & Safety qualifications and trainingStrong industry knowledge and awareness of catering trends and innovationsPassion for food, service, and continuous improvementExcellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skillsExperience working within a standards-driven and compliance-focused environmentWhat We OfferWorking with Sodexo is more than just a job.
