THE ROLE
As the Director, Product Management, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of investment technology, driving innovation within the Fixed Income Portfolio Management, Construction, and Risk toolkit. You will lead efforts to create an integrated, scalable, portfolio management experience for Fixed Income investors by harmonizing internal systems and external vendor tools to deliver seamless workflows and actionable insights.
In this high-impact position, you will align the Firm's business strategy with a product vision that emphasizes Fixed Income solutions. Your responsibilities will include overseeing roadmap planning, prioritization, and development strategies, while fostering innovation by leveraging emerging trends, innovative technologies, and strategic vendor partnerships. You will collaborate with investment teams, cross-functional stakeholders and product owners, technology groups, and external vendors to deliver transformative solutions that elevate portfolio construction, risk management, and decision-making processes.
As the champion of the product vision, you will focus on delivering exceptional user experiences, empowering investment teams, and ensuring investment teams are equipped to achieve outstanding results for clients.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
* Develop an integrated portfolio management experience strategy:
o Develop a strategy and roadmap to create an integrated and scalable portfolio management experience by harmonizing internal and external systems, data flows, and tools to provide Fixed Income investors with a unified platform for decision-making, risk assessment, and portfolio construction.
o Collaborate with investment teams and cross-functional teams to identify pain points and opportunities for streamlining workflows, ensuring the platform delivers intuitive, efficient, and scalable solutions that enhance investor productivity and decision-making.
o Design and implement features in partnership with our community of product owners and delivery teams that bridge gaps, enabling investors to more seamlessly manage portfolios.
* Evolve and innovate investment technology capabilities:
o Drive innovation by exploring emerging technologies to elevate the capabilities of the Fixed Income platform. Continuously monitor industry trends and competitor advancements to identify opportunities for differentiation.
o Partner with vendors and internal engineering teams to pilot and implement tools that enhance risk modeling, scenario analysis, and portfolio optimization.
* Collaborate to drive excellence in product management
o Establish and embed strong lifecycle processes, define clear acceptance criteria, and align Agile teams around delivering business value.
o Partner with engineering teams to align on workflows and initiatives in a dynamic, scaling environment. Actively manage dependencies and collaborate with other Product Owners on cross-team deliverables.
o Participate in Agile ceremonies, including Program Increment Planning, Stand-Ups, Sprint Reviews, and other planning exercises, ensuring alignment with goals and roadmaps.
o Engage with the internal Product Owner Community of Practice to exchange insights and promote continuous learning.
o Collaborate with the Enterprise Data Management team and external vendors to ensure data flows between systems are seamless, accurate, and timely, enabling Fixed Income investors to access actionable insights.
* Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:
o Regularly engage with Fixed Income investors and senior stakeholders to understand their evolving needs and ensure the platform delivers meaningful value.
* Vendor Technology Roadmap Alignment:
o Develop and maintain strong relationships with key external vendors, including Bloomberg and other strategic partners, to understand and influence their roadmaps and ensure seamless integration of third-party tools into the Fixed Income portfolio management platform.
o Evaluate third-party solutions and enhancements that improve portfolio construction and risk management workflows, ensuring compatibility with internal systems and data strategies.
o Advocate for customizations or new features from vendors that address specific Fixed Income portfolio management challenges.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent; CFA preferred
* Investment Management industry experience, with a proven track record of operating as a Product Owner accountable for delivering over a large-scale strategic program implementation related to front and middle-office systems in an Agile environment.
* Extensive expertise in Fixed Income investing, along with in-depth knowledge of investment tools and applications such as Bloomberg Port, risk systems (e.g., Axioma, MSCI Barra), and trading platforms (Charles River).
* Excellent leadership and team management experience; leading matrixed teams to deliver program outcomes. Must be comfortable leading and coaching Product Owners in an agile environment.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work across the organization and interact/influence/negotiate effectively at all levels of management.
* High level of attention to detail; proactive and diligent in responding to business and client needs.
* Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop creative solutions to driving results and overcoming challenges.
