Business Architect Director Grade Location: London / Hybrid Compensation: Up to £155K ( £35K bonus) 15% Pension Outstanding Benefits Sector: Wealth Management, Investment & Asset Management Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time | 1 Year FTC This role will suit an experienced Business Architect who can sit at the nexus of strategy, operating-model design and enterprise change. As the design authority you will be tasked with turning out Investment and Wealth Solution departments strategic intent into an executable, future-proof operating platform—reducing risk, accelerating change delivery, and ensuring every investment in technology, data and talent moves our enterprise objectives. You will do this by defining capability gaps, future-state principles and design guardrails so every downstream project aligns to one coherent architecture. ️ Key Responsibilities Own the target operating model – map current-state, articulate vision statements and guiding principles, and design the future organisation across people, process, data and technology. Architect investment-management capabilities – define how Portfolio Management, Operations and Distribution interlock; advise on location strategy, insource/outsource decisions and service-delivery models. Documented design and rollout of a full people-process-data-technology operating model across a buy-side or global-markets organisation. Regular presentation of architecture/TOM options, trade-offs and investment cases to Executive Committees or Fund Boards. Drive decision clarity – create options papers, pros/cons analyses and recommendation decks that de-risk C-suite decision-making. Govern design execution – supply templates, toolkits and design guardrails; provide oversight during implementation and report to Steering Committees. ✅ Candidate Profile Leading, coaching, mentoring, and developing a team of senior enterprise, solution, and business architects. Proven track record in Enterprise Architecture leadership roles within Wealth Management, Investment, or Asset Management, ideally with Tier 1 or buy-side institutions. Proven ownership of business-architecture & TOM design within a top-tier asset-management, wealth or securities-services environment. TOGAF, BizBok or BCS diploma; SAFe or equivalent scaled-agile accreditation. Fluency across investment-management operating models (front office, middle office, ops & distribution). Experience with location strategy, captives, near-shore or outsourced service models. Track record presenting options and trade-offs to C-suite / Fund Boards and steering commitees. Hands-on exposure to global regulations (FCA/PRA, ESMA, MAS, SEC) and Consumer Duty. Ability to create and maintain architecture artefacts (capability maps, RACI, governance frameworks, migration run-books). Familiarity with Aladdin, Charles River, SimCorp, Snowflake, Eagle or Finbourne data stacks is a big Plus ➕
