Job Title: Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor\nLocation: South East Wales\nCompany: Tier 1 Main Contractor\nSector: Ministry of Justice (MOJ) Projects – Upgrades & New Build\n\nAbout the Role:\nWe are currently seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading Tier 1 Contractor delivering a diverse portfolio of MOJ (Ministry of Justice) projects across South East Wales. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a well-established, highly respected construction business that offers long-term career development and is recognised for its strong focus on employee wellbeing.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\n * \n\n Manage the commercial function on MOJ projects including prison refurbishments and new build schemes.\n\n * \n\n Provide accurate and timely cost reporting, forecasting, and budgeting.\n\n * \n\n Liaise with project teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure commercial objectives are achieved.\n\n * \n\n Administer subcontractor payments, valuations, and change control processes.\n\n * \n\n Assist in the preparation and agreement of final accounts.\n\n * \n\n Support junior QS staff where required, contributing to team development.\n\nRequirements:\n\n * \n\n Proven experience working in a Quantity Surveying role within a main contractor environment.\n\n * \n\n A solid understanding of construction contracts, particularly in public sector or secure environments.\n\n * \n\n Strong commercial acumen, attention to detail, and negotiation skills.\n\n * \n\n Experience with MOJ projects is desirable but not essential.\n\n * \n\n Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.\n\n * \n\n Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel across regional project sites.\n\nWhat’s on Offer:\n\n * \n\n Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.\n\n * \n\n Opportunity to work on high-profile MOJ schemes.\n\n * \n\n Long-term career progression within a Tier 1 business.\n\n * \n\n Supportive working culture with a strong focus on staff retention and development
