Summary
This role is all about using your practical skills and attention to detail to look after a place that people love. We're looking for a Facilities Assistant at Birling Gap & the Seven Sisters to help keep the whole place in good condition and running smoothly for all the people who visit.
For this role, you’ll need to complete our online assessment instead of using a C.V. or online application form. This will help us understand more about your strengths and give you more information on the role.
Hours: 18 hours per week (3 x 6 hour shifts).
Contract: Fixed term contract until 1 November 2026.
The advertised salary for this role will be in effect from 1st April.
What it's like to work here
Birling Gap and the Seven Sisters is a world famous tourist location. During the Summer season we see thousands of visitors each week. You will be part of the Facilities team, maintaining compliance, safety and overall site care.
What you'll be doing
You’ll help with the day-to-day presentation of the National Trust’s building and outdoor spaces. You’ll be turning your hand to all sorts of cleaning and minor bits of maintenance, making sure that all our facilities are kept in good working order. You'll also be asked to help with some manual work such mowing and strimming as well as maintaining compliance.
Duties such as cleaning, sweeping and litter-picking form a core part of this role. You’ll be aiming for the highest standards of customer service everywhere you look after, and this includes speaking to people as they visit and helping them with any queries. You might also get involved with general maintenance work.
