Founded in 2018, SailGP is one of the world’s fastest‑growing sports and entertainment properties, now in its sixth season. SailGP also races for a better future, championing a world powered by nature. Underpinning the organisation’s purpose‑driven agenda is a diversification of the league, with the goal of immediately progressing gender equity and inclusivity. SailGP is a global organisation with defined values that shape the culture of its team – Deliver Quality and Consistency; Evolve with Focus; Make it Count; Stand Together and Strike a Balance.

Summary

We’re building out a dedicated in‑house Paid Media function to support the growing needs of our global business and marketing teams. As part of this evolution, we’re looking for a Media Manager to join the team at a pivotal time. Reporting into the Paid Media Lead, you’ll play a key role in developing and delivering best‑in‑class digital campaigns across Paid Social, Search and Display. You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders and agency partners to manage the media lifecycle – from planning and execution to reporting and optimisation. This is a hands‑on planning role, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment and wants to help shape the future of an internal agency set‑up. You will manage a significant budget and have the opportunity to develop a junior executive, while contributing directly to our core business goals – from growing global fandom to driving lead generation and ticket sales.

Key Responsibilities

Media Planning

* Be confident working across a variety of campaign briefs and business areas, understanding their distinct objectives and KPIs – such as audience growth, lead generation and ticket sales.
* Translate campaign strategies into detailed, channel‑specific media plans across Programmatic, Video, Social and Mobile channels and platforms.
* Keep up‑to‑date on the market, platform updates and evolving best practices to support campaign optimisation and testing opportunities.
* Support test‑and‑learn initiatives by helping set up experiments and tracking their performance, collaborating on recommendations with the Paid Media Lead.
* Assess the performance of campaigns through timely reporting and analysis.
* Maintain campaign data and performance toolkits alongside the Paid Media Lead, ensuring accurate tracking, regular reporting and documented learnings.
* Work with Fan Engagement and Marketing teams on media campaigns and share performance trends that could provide valuable insights.
* Contribute to process improvements that enhance media performance and overall operational efficiency.

Campaign Execution

* Work with the Performance Marketing Executive to build out best‑in‑class campaign structures within Search, Programmatic and Social platforms.
* Monitor campaign performance and implement a testing framework (e.g. A/B testing, creative iterations) to continuously drive incremental value and learnings.
* Produce paid media reports, demonstrating strong analytical skills, as well as an ability to interpret results in light of the wider marcomms and business context.

Team Management & Development

* Coach, develop and manage a Performance Marketing Executive.
* Provide ongoing development and support for your direct report, including but not limited to regular 1:1s, appraisals, managing performance reviews, setting tangible objectives, addressing any performance issues, identifying and delivering on training gaps.
* Work alongside the Paid Media Lead for performance management.

Key Expectations

* Champion an inclusive environment where diversity is valued.
* Advocate and promote SailGP Values and contribute to a positive culture.
* Operate with a financially responsible mindset and strive for the commercial sustainability of SailGP.
* Consider how each team action contributes to Better Sport, Better Planet.

About You

* Hands‑on, demonstrable experience managing campaigns across Meta, YouTube, TikTok, Google Ads, LinkedIn and DSP platforms.
* Intermediate to advanced Excel knowledge and skills.
* 6‑12 months’ experience in people’s management or support, i.e. mentoring.
* Previous experience in a similar role at an Agency or Advertising platform provider for a minimum of one year.
* Smart & passionate about digital and new technology.
* Strong analytical background with a deep understanding of omni‑channel strategy and attribution.
* Effective project management and communication skills needed to manage various projects and global stakeholders.
* Excellent attention to detail, especially when employing individual processes and procedures.
* Able to communicate confidently and adapt communication style according to the needs of the stakeholder.
* Able to work independently but values working collaboratively as part of a team.
* Works effectively and enjoys a fast‑paced, start‑up environment.
* Entrepreneurial spirit with a desire to exceed expectations.
* Comfortable working with multiple stakeholders across multiple departments (global & local).
