Deputy Team Manager - Residential Services
Hours Of Work
* Monday – Sunday (as per contract of employment).
* An average of 43 hours per week (Breaks are paid).
* Day Shift: 7:45am – 8.00pm. Night Shift: 7:45pm – 8.00am.
* 3 days on, 3 days off over a 6-week rota.
Salary: £34,546 per year.
Holidays: 5.6 weeks per annum including statutory Bank/Public Holidays.

* Has a minimum RQF/NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social care.

Job Title: Deputy Team Manager
Accountable to: Team Manager/Operational Manager
Job Purpose
* As part of the Residential Services Management Team, provide operational shift management on a day-to-day basis across different services as required.
* Promote independence and deliver high quality person-centred care to assist residents in working towards their self-identified goals.
* Responsible for ensuring a safe environment and delivering an effective support service that meets the needs of residents.
* Promote and assist in the provision of an environment that is culturally and linguistically appropriate to the needs of Deaf people.
General Duties
* Ensure all work complies with current legislation, organisational policies and standards.
* To maintain clear and accurate records in line with Deafway policy and procedures.
* Work effectively as part of a team and support all colleagues as required.
* Build positive relationships with staff and maintain the team ethos.
Deputy Team Manager Duties
* Promote good practice and challenge bad practice by working alongside and supporting support workers.
* Take responsibility for ensuring the shift is running smoothly and confirm that the tasks delegated to staff are carried out.
* Effectively communicate with the Team Manager and inform them of any issues as they arise, including details of any actions taken.
* Observe and report any potential problems and concerns relating to the welfare or wellbeing of residents, including safeguarding concerns.
* Respond to any emergencies and support colleagues as required e.g. medical emergencies, challenging behaviours.
* Oversee keyworker system for allocated residents, providing a safe and interactive relationship that guarantees they have the best quality of life we can offer.
* Responsible for completing medication rounds safely, effectively, in a timely manner, and in accordance with Resident’s Care Plans.
* Complete accurate written reports, as requested, for any events which could lead to potential Safeguardings or investigations.
* Attend multi-agency meetings including case reviews and CPA meetings alongside, or in the absence of, the Care Manager.
* Assess and mentor support workers to maintain their professional development.
* Conduct supervisions with support workers in accordance with timelines set.
* Contribute to new staff inductions, assisting with training and completion of probation handbook.
* Cover the Team Manager or other Deputy Team Manager absences, as requested.
Support Duties
* Provide assistance with personal care in accordance with the residents’ care plans e.g., assistance with bathing, washing, dressing, when required.
* Provide daily living skills needs and support and encourage residents to carry out every day essential tasks where appropriate. i.e. laundry, keeping their room clean, cooking.
* Support residents in accessing local services and resources in the community to develop independence and fulfilment in all aspects of life.
* Attend and participate in staff meetings.
