The role
As an Electrical Fitter, you’ll play a key role in maintaining and improving electrical systems across a complex and high-profile defence estate. This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same — from routine maintenance to solving complex faults, your work will directly support operational readiness and site safety.
You’ll be part of a collaborative, skilled team where your expertise is valued and your development is supported. This role offers the opportunity to build on your technical skills while working in a dynamic environment that contributes to national security.
Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:
1. Carrying out planned preventative maintenance on electrical systems and equipment
2. Identifying faults, defects and required alterations to maintain performance and reliability
3. Supporting trades and collaborating with colleagues across maintenance teams
4. Ensuring all work is completed in line with safety regulations, policies and procedures
5. Suggesting improvements to systems and processes to enhance performance and efficiency.
This is a full-time role working 36 hours per week, based on site at HMNB Clyde.
Essential experience of the Electrical Fitter
6. Demonstrating experience working with electrical systems, equipment and maintenance processes
7. Applying knowledge of regulations, health and safety standards and documentation
8. Carrying out electrical fault finding, repairs and installation work
9. Working within controlled environments and following safe systems of work.
Qualifications for the Electrical Fitter
10. SVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation, Maintenance or equivalent qualification (essential)
11. Test and Inspection qualification (advantageous)

The successful candidate must be a sole UK National who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
