Main duties of the job
You will be assisting and directing patients toward the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way. Duties include:
* Processing appointment requests from patients for on the day and future appointments
* Receive and make telephone calls as required. Divert calls and take messages, ensuring accuracy of detail and prompt appropriate delivery
* Registration of new patients computer data entry and medical records
* Ensure building security

About the Practice/Department/Team
Joining our team here at Oundle surgery presents an opportunity to be part of a great team. We are a practice with a population of around 10,500 patients. It is a very fast paced working environment and this makes it an exciting and rewarding place to work.
Job responsibilities
To be responsible for undertaking a wide range of reception and admin duties and the provision of general support to the multidisciplinary team. Duties can include but are not limited to, greeting and directing patients, effective use of the appointment system, booking appointments, processing of information and assisting patients as required.
To act as the central point of contact for patients, the distribution of information, messages and enquiries for the clinical team, liaising with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers.

Qualifications
* Good standard of education
Experience
* Customer Service Skills
* Experience of working in a busy & multi-functional team.
* Call centre experience or equivalent
* Experience of handling confidential information and data
* Using Systm One (Clinical database)
* Experience of working within a GP Surgery
* A minimum of three years experience in a customer facing environment
