Part Time Charity Accounts Assistant - Bodmin/hybrid - £26.5k FTE

The position works with an organisation that offers support to affected members of the Cornish community (and beyond), through specialist mentoring, counselling and general support.

Trial Balance Consulting are delighted to have been exclusively re-engaged to assist a highly regarded Bodmin based charity in their search for a Part Time Accounts Assistant. The position is offered on a permanent, part time basis of approx 22.5 - 30 hours (3-4 days), which can be flexibly worked as per the preference of the successful candidate. With agreement this role can be split between the charity HQ and worked remotely.


Key responsibilities

* Overseeing purchase and sales ledgers
* Reconciling all bank accounts and petty cash
* Oversee the month end
* Monitoring the aged debtor report
* Work with HR on assisting with Payroll
* Other ad-hoc duties as and when required

We’re looking for an experienced female Accounts Assistant who possesses at least two years of recent exposure in a similar position. Applicant’s may be qualified by experience or part/fully AAT qualified. Previous experience of charity accounting and partial VAT exemption would be desirable though not essential assuming you have an aptitude to learn new skills and procedures.

Experience of using cloud-based accounting platforms, particularly Xero, would also be highly desirable and a good knowledge of MS Excel essential. Given the nature of the organisation, a strong culture fit will be key criteria. The charity is led by a typically passionate, energetic team with a very pro-active attitude to their work. The role wouldn’t be suited to somebody who is looking for “any old job”!
