Job overview

Although this position is a 6 months fixed-term contract, the actual contract duration will be adjusted to account for the time taken to advertise the post, complete the hiring process, and finalise pre-employment checks. This means the contract will begin when the candidate starts the role and may be slightly shorter than 6 months.

Are you a motivated midwife with good organisational skills and experience of working in a hospital? Are you ready to facilitate, coordinate and support Maternity Education. We are excited to announce a fixed-term position ending on the2nd of June 2026. This role offers you the opportunity to collaborate with clinical, operational, and governance colleagues, as well as the broader health system, to drive positive change within the Education faculty.

The post holder will be a member of the senior midwifery leadership team, contributing fully to the development, delivery and achievement of the group's objectives.

The post holder will participate in a senior managers’ on call rota for maternity services.

Whipps Cross Hospital is situated in the heart of East London, and we provide Maternity Services to approximately 4000 women a year. Each birth is very special to us, and we strive to make every birth a positive experience for the family. We have a level 2 Neonatal unit situated within the hospital as well as excellent facilities in Fetal Medicine.

Building on our existing work around listening to women & birthing people we have implemented a structured triaging system for women who attend our services and a maternity telephone helpline. Our recently launched home birth team provides case-loading care to those who choose to birth at home making it possible for us to offer women care in all settings in line with the Better Births Initiative and NHS Long Term Plan recommendation

6. Recent clinical experience in the relevant area of practice.
