Description
Rutherglen High School is an Additional Support Needs School located in Rutherglen. It serves pupils aged 11-18 with a wide range of support needs including Global Learning Needs, Autistic Spectrum Disorder and Severe and Profound Needs. The current roll is 95. The school has 8 classrooms and 7 specialist rooms, two gym facilities, a sensory room, a medical room, a staffroom, management accommodation, an assembly area and a hygiene room.
Role Details
Hours: 21 hours per week
Work Pattern: Wednesday – Friday
Salary: Main Grade Teacher Scale, £25,210 – £31,644 per year
Responsibilities
• Deliver the curriculum and assist pupils in achieving their potential academically, emotionally and socially.
• Work in smaller class settings (maximum 10) with allocated support staff.
• Contribute to whole‑school initiatives and carry out duties outlined in Annexe B of “A Teaching Profession for the 21st Century”.
• Participate in school events, parent meetings, and the Parent Council.
Requirements
• Registered with GTC Scotland (General Teaching Council (Scotland)).
• Required to complete the PVG Scheme or an update before formal offer.
• Overseas criminal records check where applicable.
