Our Farm
Our family farm covers 900 acres and has 240 dairy cows. With a 24/48 Herringbone swing-over parlour, cubicles mattresses bedded with milled straw and well-developed infrastructure of tracks and grazing platform. The milk is supplied on a First Milk contract, and calving is completed in the autumn, with all our data and records kept using Uniform. We have a small arable operation alongside the dairy, which currently covers 150 acres.
We pride ourselves on our outstanding facilities, and we have recently invested in our infrastructure and equipment. You will join a small, passionate team striving to achieve the highest cow standards.
Your Role
As a General Farm Worker, you will support the team with Dairy & Arable tasks. Roles and responsibilities include:
* Supporting the daily management of the herd and ensuring animal welfare are the top priorities.
* Milking to a high and consistent standard, ensuring the parlour is kept clean and safe to operate.
* Identifying illnesses and informing the Herd Manager of any observations.
* Supporting with dry cow management, calving cows and colostrum protocols.
* Keeping the overall farm tidy and safe to operate.
* Assisting with the arable operation, including rolling, cultivating, moving bales and quad bike spraying
* General yard duties, including feeding, scraping out, bedding cattle, TB testing and covering for other staff members
* Farm maintenance and machine operating, to include ground works, repairs, servicing machinery, hedging and fencing

Requirements
* Possess the drive to succeed and support the farm team
* Be a punctual, reliable person who is willing to learn
* Share our passion for cows, being enthusiastic and committed to achieving high standards.
* Be an organised individual with a high attention to detail
* A full UK Driving license
* Proof of UK right to work
* A Telehandler license is preferred
