Transport Planner – Senior
* Chester / Manchester / Newcastle
What you’ll do
* Three years' or more experience is required for this role.
* Assist in delivering development planning projects across the country.
* Obtain, analyse, and interpret traffic data from a range of external sources.
* Appraise development sites in terms of their accessibility by a range of transport modes.
* Undertake junction capacity assessments.
* Produce high quality reports including Technical Notes, Transport Statements, Transport Assessments, Environmental Statement chapters and Travel Plan reports, in part or in full.
* Design highway improvement schemes.
* Manage your own projects and clients, with as much support and training as needed.
Qualities & attributes
* A degree qualification in a relevant field and genuine interest and enthusiasm for transport planning.
* Have a thorough understanding of the principles of transport planning and a demonstrable track record of delivering high quality input.
* Good problem-solving skills.
* Excellent presentation and technical writing skills.
* The ability to manage your own time to meet project deadlines and budgets.
* The ability to use relevant industry-standard software packages.
* An understanding of the application of highway design standards, guidance and policy.
* Good technical ability.
* A positive attitude.
