Our Ground Investigation department is expanding rapidly, and we are seeking an experienced Engineering Geologist or Geoenvironmental Engineer to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality ground investigation services and contribute to the development of interpretative geotechnical and contamination assessments. This role focuses on managing and delivering ground investigation projects from start to finish, ensuring technical excellence and compliance with industry standards. This role involves both site and office-based work, with opportunities to mentor junior staff and influence the growth of the department. Job Specification The key accountabilities and associated duties include: Plan, manage, and supervise ground investigation projects. Undertake soil and rock logging to BS5930 standards. Oversee drilling, sampling, and in-situ testing operations. Interpret geotechnical and geoenvironmental data and prepare detailed reports. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams to deliver projects on time and within budget. Provide technical guidance and mentoring to graduate engineers. Role Requirements Degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, or related discipline. Minimum 3 years’ experience in ground investigation or geoenvironmental engineering. Looking toward professional chartership or are already chartered. Strong understanding of UK ground investigation standards and practices. Excellent communication and project management skills. Full UK driving licence (essential). Experience with geotechnical software (e.g., Bentley Openground) is desirable. Full rights to work in UK.
