Wincanton Cares was founded in 2022 by a small, passionate group of people who want to help those in the area to live their lives as fully as possible.
The service brings together 7 key community hubs within Wincanton – including The Balsam Centre – to provide support for paid and unpaid carers and those experiencing digital poverty, advice on emotional health and wellbeing, and more.
The post-holder will work collaboratively to promote awareness of the Wincanton Cares Benefits Service to prospective users, and provide an advice service that gives accurate information regarding welfare benefits. They will also assist and support clients' applications for a range of benefits.
The successful candidate will be able to empathise with, and understand the needs of, vulnerable people in the community and work in a person-centred way. They will have an understanding of the personal and financial implications of rural isolation, age, illness, disability and end of life care, and be able to interpret the legislation in relation to benefits.
More information, including how you can apply, can be found by visiting The Balsam Centre's website.
