About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team. The successful candidate will work across a range of projects including residential developments, social housing, commercial schemes, refurbishments, and civil engineering works.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic main contractor delivering projects across West Wales, working closely with Directors, Project Managers, Clients, Consultants, and Supply Chain partners.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing all commercial aspects of projects from pre-construction through to final account.
* Preparation and review of Bills of Quantities, cost plans, and tender documentation.
* Subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and appointment.
* Valuation of works (including interim applications, variations, and final accounts).
* Cost reporting and forecasting.
* Management of subcontractor payments and variations.
* Preparation and submission of valuations to clients.
* Risk management and value engineering.
* Contract administration (JCT Design & Build, Intermediate, etc.).
* Attending site and client meetings.
* Maintaining strong supply chain relationships.
Experience & Qualifications Required
* Minimum 3+ years' experience with a main contractor.
* Strong knowledge of JCT contracts.
* Experience working on Design & Build projects.
* Experience in residential and commercial construction projects.
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and cost reporting systems.
* Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
* Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable:
* RICS accreditation (or working towards).
* Knowledge of Welsh public sector frameworks
