Main Duties
* Provide a high‑quality patient‑focused clinical pharmacy service within UEC (acute medicine and same day emergency care).
* Act as team leader for the ward‑based pharmacy team and a member of the UEC pharmacy team.
* Undertake teaching and clinical supervision of pharmacy staff and other healthcare employees.
* Provide specialist clinical pharmacy services and advice to clinical specialties, demonstrating a high level of clinical effectiveness.
* Work closely with Lead Pharmacist UEC and Associate Chief Pharmacist for Clinical Services on strategic development of services and define roles for pharmacist non‑medical prescribers.
* Develop and manage the delivery of pharmacy services, monitor drug expenditure, and achieve financial savings within UEC.
* Build increased pharmacist presence into outpatient clinical areas.
* Preference given to internal Trust staff, NHS At‑Risk staff, and those with recent relevant experience.

Responsibilities (continued)
* Strategic planning and delivery of clinical pharmacy services to UEC patients.
* Support financial management of drug expenditure and medicines budget.
* Develop, implement, and update clinical pharmacy policy in partnership with senior pharmacists.
* Monitor, review, and report on medicines‑related incidents.
* Act as a role model for the multidisciplinary team and practice as an independent prescriber.
* Lead and coordinate the UEC pharmacy team, ensuring competence and training for all members.
* Engage with quality improvement, research, and policy development.
* Conduct local antimicrobial stewardship and support the wider Trust programme.

Person Specification
Essential Qualifications
* Master’s Degree (or equivalent) in Pharmacy
* Postgraduate Clinical Pharmacy Certificate
* Current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
* Postgraduate Clinical Pharmacy Diploma
* Non‑medical prescriber (or willingness to undertake at request)
Desirable Qualifications
* Current registration with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society
* Member of the UK Clinical Pharmacy Association (UKCPA)
* Active member of the Urgent and Emergency Care Group within UKCPA
* Postgraduate leadership qualification
* Postgraduate qualification in specialty
Essential Knowledge & Experience
* Excellent knowledge of clinical pharmacy and drug use in UEC.
* Demonstrable experience across clinical specialties.
* Leadership, communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
* Understanding of NHS priorities and strategic care agendas.
* Outstanding oral and written communication, report writing, and CPD evidence.
* Experience in teaching, training, mentorship, and multidisciplinary working.
Desirable Knowledge & Experience
* Knowledge of treatment pathways and commissioning of therapies.
* Experience supporting hospital management.
* Senior pharmacy management experience.
* Experience designing and developing pharmacy services.
* Experience presenting research and managing budgets.
