Pre-Sales Solutions Architect
Location: Nottingham/Reading/Glasgow
Here at Lucid we are currently recruiting for a Solution Architect (Managed Services) to lead the design and ownership of innovative, commercially robust managed and professional service solutions. This will be reporting to the Head of Service Architecture, this role is pivotal in shaping competitive service offerings across the portfolio, supporting both BAU pre-sales engagements and complex tender submissions. Acting as Solution Owner, you will design technically sound, deliverable and commercially viable solutions that meet customer requirements while protecting and growing services revenue.
Key Responsibilities
Tender & Bid Leadership
Act as Solution Owner for managed services and professional services tenders.
Shape innovative, cost-effective and deliverable solutions aligned to client requirements
Lead service design across technical, operational and commercial workstreams
Develop and validate detailed cost models, including resource plans, tooling, SLAs, risks and dependencies
Collaborate with third-party partners to create integrated service offerings
Support transition and handover to delivery teams post-award to ensure alignment with bid commitments.
Produce high-quality, compelling written tender responses translating technical solutions into clear business value
Pre-Sales & Solution Development
Partner with Account Managers, Bid Teams and Technical Specialists to qualify opportunities and define client needs
Design high-level and detailed service solutions aligned to portfolio capabilities and industry best practice
Own and manage customer quotations, ensuring accuracy and timely submission
Provide subject matter expertise across the managed services portfolio
Present and articulate solutions confidently to senior and executive stakeholders.
Governance & Continuous Improvement
Maintain accurate documentation including solution designs, cost models and proposal artefacts.
Ensure adherence to delivery and commercial governance processes.
Identify and mitigate technical, operational and commercial risks.
Contribute to the continuous improvement and innovation of managed service offerings.
Lead the design and implementation of new service propositions and delivery models.
Skills & Experience
Strong knowledge of IT Managed Services, including Service Desk and End User Compute.
Proven experience designing solutions within an MSP, systems integrator or IT reseller environment.
Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance customer value and margin protection.
Excellent written, presentation and stakeholder engagement skills.
Experience working collaboratively within bid and cross-functional teams.
Awareness of market trends, competitor landscape and emerging support technologies.
Strong organisational skills, including capacity planning and workload management.
