Job title: Logistics Chargehand (Blue Hat) - PM
Location: Site-based at Hinkley Point C
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: £23.28 per hour
Working Hours: 39 hours + 1 hour overtime
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday 14:00 - 22:30
Responsibilities
* Reporting to the Logistics Manager, the main responsibility will be to supervise general operatives (Ratio 1:8) ensuring they are working safely in line with RAMS, DABS and HPC processes while also ensuring client requirements are being met.
* Supervisinga team ofup to 8logisticsoperatives
* Completing daily briefings before work starts, and ensuring all operatives understand their daily tasks and are aware of any new hazards within their work areas.
* To inform all operatives of any changes related to site duties or site requirements – sign off POWRA where required.
* Supervising HR building site set ups.
* Supervising housekeeping
* Supervisingthe manoeuvring of materials from the off-loading points to the HR Work areas
* Supervisingwaste segregation and removalof wastefrom within the building
* Supervising themanagement/recording/replenishing/maintenance of all fire points, consumables, and signage within the building
* Ensuring100% photo evidence is taken of materials delivered to the HR work areas and then given to the fleet team supervisor before the end of each shift.
* Ensure a signature is obtained from an HR supervisor/manageron each delivery note for each delivery; completed delivery notes must be hand over the fleet supervisor before the end of each shift
* During cold and freezingtemperatures, supervisethe logistics winterisation processes and proceduresin the HR building areas.
* To ensure the completion of daily checks sheets, report any defects to the manager and keep records for audit and data recording purposes.
* Deliver familiarisation/competency training and keep records for audit/data recording purposes.
* Ensure all plant/equipment are maintained and keep records for audit and data recording purposes.
* Ensure plant and equipment are stored correctly and keys are secured when not in use.
* Ensure plant/equipment are fit for use and secure if not in use.
* Give TBTs to operatives on a weekly basis and keep records.
* Any additional reasonable duties requested by the line manager.
* Ensure others do not task your team without authority.
* Ensure that the HPC code of conduct is always followed.
* Coordinate and implement fire and emergency arrangements throughout the building.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications
Essential
* Experience working in a centralised construction logistics team.
* Demonstrate knowledge of material coordination processes.
* Demonstrate the ability to think and act quickly in emergencies or under pressure.
* Provide evidence of the ability to deliver succinct and clear verbal and provide written reports where necessary.
* Maintain a high standard of personal presentation.
* Demonstrate reliability including and have strong time management skills to ensure team effectiveness and availability.
* Demonstrate through experience the qualities of a supervisor.
* An understanding of the principles of equality and diversity in relation to visitors' and employee's needs.
* An interest in and commitment to the work of Wilson James for its clients.
* Previous Supervisory Experience
* SSSTS (or working towards)
* CITB Supervisor H&S test (must be completed before start date)
* Basic IT Skills
