Job title: Casual Academy Physiotherapist
Department: Academy Medical Department
Based at: BRFC Academy, Brockhall Village, Old Langho, Blackburn, BB6 8BA. However, flexibility on location is required.
Reports to: Academy Senior Physiotherapist
Responsible for: N/A
Hours of work: As and when required. Hours of work offered may vary and will be during weekends or midweek evenings.
Contractual status: Casual worker
Job purpose
To provide medical provision on behalf of Blackburn Rovers Academy under the direction of the Head of Sports Science and Medicine during matches and clinics.
Duties and responsibilities
1. To be committed to ensuring the safeguarding and welfare of all elite players, promoting their well-being needs whilst maintaining professional boundaries.
2. To assist and liaise with all staff in the running of the medical department as required.
3. To provide medical cover for games and training as required.
4. To provide medical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of Academy players as required.
5. To assist in fitness testing and anthropometric testing of all Academy players.
6. To maintain up-to-date medical records.
7. To liaise with all stakeholders in the medical provision of all Academy players.
8. To attend other relevant courses/workshops as required from time to time.
9. To attend all meetings and in-service training relevant to your position as required.
10. To maintain up-to-date qualifications.
11. To submit relevant paperwork on the required monthly deadline.
Skills required
1. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
2. Good level of communication both written and verbal.
3. Ability to manage confidential and sensitive data.
About The Candidate
Knowledge / Experience required
1. Safeguarding and welfare awareness.
2. Knowledge of working in an elite sporting environment.
Qualifications required
1. BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy, HCPC registered or Sports Therapist Graduate (Member of the Society of Sports Therapy).
2. FA Safeguarding.
