Duties
* Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications.
* Oversee meal preparation and ensure that all food is prepared in a timely manner.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to health and safety regulations.
* Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service periods.
* Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary.
* Ensure all food safety standards are met, including proper storage, handling, and sanitation practices.
* Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients where possible.
Skills
* Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a professional kitchen environment.
* Strong culinary skills with an understanding of various cooking techniques and cuisines.
* Prior kitchen experience is essential; restaurant experience is highly desirable.
* Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for maintaining hygiene in the kitchen.
* Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in meal presentation and service.
