Offer description

Use your design skills for real-world impact. We’re a growing organisation supporting young people and inclusive practice, and we’re looking for an experienced graphic designer to help elevate our communications across projects and partnerships.

What difference will you make?

Strong design makes a real difference to a small organisation like ours.

Your input will help us communicate more clearly with young people, families, schools and professional partners. It will strengthen the quality of our resources, improve the presentation of our reports and materials, and support us as we expand our work.

We combine direct youth provision with partnership and consultancy work. Good design helps ensure that what we produce matches the care and professionalism behind it.

As we continue to grow, we want our communications to reflect the quality of our work. Your contribution will help us build confidence, credibility and consistency across everything we share.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for an experienced and confident graphic designer with a strong portfolio of professional work.

The most important requirement is high competence in Adobe Creative Suite (particularly InDesign, Illustrator and/or Photoshop) or equivalent professional design software. Much of our work involves structured documents such as guides, reports and learning materials, so experience in layout design and preparing materials for both print and digital use is essential.

Our ideal volunteer will have

* Strong understanding of layout, typography and visual hierarchy
* Experience producing polished, professional materials
* Attention to detail and consistency
* The ability to work within existing brand guidelines and help refine them where needed
* Confidence turning written content into clear, well‑designed outputs

Experience designing toolkits, reports, educational materials or structured documents would be particularly valuable.

Beyond technical skill, we are looking for someone who is reliable and professional in how they work. As a small but growing organisation, we need someone who

* Communicates clearly
* Asks questions to clarify briefs
* Agrees realistic deadlines
* Works independently once direction is given
* Understands that priorities may occasionally shift in a small team

You do not need prior experience in the youth or charity sector. However, you should feel comfortable working with a purpose-driven organisation and creating materials that are accessible to a range of audiences – from young people to school leaders and NHS partners.

An interest in inclusion, mental health or community development is welcome but not essential. What matters most is strong design skill, a thoughtful approach and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

What will you be doing?

We are looking for an experienced Graphic Designer to strengthen the quality and consistency of our visual communications.

Brighter Futures Together is a Buckinghamshire-based not-for-profit supporting young people, families and the professionals around them. We run inclusive youth groups and mental health initiatives, and we work with schools, NHS services and local authorities to improve how young people are supported.

As we grow, we need strong design input across a range of materials. This role is about helping us present our work clearly and professionally.

Key responsibilities may include

* Designing well‑structured guides and resources
* Creating slide decks and learning materials
* Developing social media templates and campaign graphics
* Designing posters and digital resources for youth projects
* Supporting the layout of reports and partnership documents
* Contributing to light brand development for new initiatives

We are particularly keen to strengthen our professionally designed outputs, so solid experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator and/or Photoshop) or equivalent professional software is important.

Most work will be clearly briefed and agreed in advance. The role is primarily remote and project-based, offering flexibility around availability.

There may be opportunities to collaborate on creative ideas linked to youth projects if that interests you, but this is not essential. The focus is on delivering thoughtful, high-quality design that supports a small but growing organisation.

You would work closely with our CEO and project leads as part of a committed, collaborative team.
