WSETis in the developmental and implementation stages of an excitingorganisationwide digital transformation Programme. The newlycreated role of Head of Data will be aleader in Data Transformation playing a pivotal role in shaping thefuture of the WSET through strategic use ofdata.
OverallResponsibility
Workingcrossfunctionally you will:
* Developand own a comprehensive Data and Artificial Intelligence (AI)strategic plan to transform data into actionable business insightsand tooptimise our core datainfrastructure.
* Ensure alignment with thestrategic goals of our transformational programme and organisationstrategic plans.
* Collaborate with colleagues toidentify and implement AI innovative technologies and methodologieswhich will elevate our data capabilities andenhance overallbusiness intelligence.
* Shape how we grow andevolve the use of our data to improve outcomes and driveinnovation.
* Embed a datadriven organisationalculture.
* Enable selfservice analytics to ensurethat data is accessible and understandable and to enable real timedecisionmaking and improved outcomes.
* Lead ondata governance working closely with key business areas to build anew crossorganisational board to oversee how data and insight isdeveloped and utilised.
* Move the organisationaway from a fullycentralised approach to business intelligence andanalytics by building new data skills capabilities and communitieswhilstfostering a culture of continuous learning andinnovation.
* Work closelywith the Data Protection Officer (DPO) to ensure adherence to bothdata protection regulation and agreed principles (and evidencethis).
* Contributeto the Trust by undertaking other various tasks asrequired.

PersonSpecification:
A degree in computer science data engineering or a related industryexperience.
A strong background in dataanalytics data modelling and data visualisation likely from abackground in data architecture and /or data engineering.
Excellent communication and interpersonalskills with the ability to bring data facts alive for nondatacentric stakeholders engage and motivate team members andstakeholders.
Curious with an insatiable driveto adapt the use of data and AI showcasing a trajectory ofcontinuous learning looking for more value in our data andembracing innovation.
Ability to demonstratenot just data acumen but strategic foresight andto understand anddemonstrate how data supports and enhances an organisationsobjective.
Understanding of data protectionregulation(GDPR)
Essential/Desirablecriteria:
Experienceof building/growing an analytical function. Awareness of thechallenge in launching a new function and embedding it intoorganisational ways of working.
Experience ofestablishing and enforcing data governance principles to ensuredata quality accuracy and consistency.
Abilityto identify and capitalise on business intelligence and datadrivenopportunities which can lead to creating new revenue streams andenhancing business growth.
Working knowledge oftechnologies such as Dynamics 365 PowerBi Snowflake or equivalentDatabase design SQL Server PowerApps dataflows and solutionmanagement.
Demonstrable experience andunderstanding of existing and emerging and deployment use andgovernance of analytical machine learning and AItechnologies.
