Support Worker – Supported Living Service (Broxburn, West Lothian)
Hours: 20 hours per week (over 3 days)

About the Service
This is a supported living service based in Broxburn, providing care and support to two gentlemen who share a home. Both individuals have mild learning disabilities and enjoy a calm, structured environment with support to maintain their independence and daily routines.
Due to the nature of the role and split shifts, we are ideally looking for someone local to the area.
About the Role – A Day in the Life
As a Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting the individuals to live as independently as possible within their own home and community.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Supporting with daily household tasks such as cleaning and laundry
2. Assisting with meal preparation and promoting healthy routines
3. Supporting with medication administration
4. Accompanying individuals to health appointments
5. Supporting with shopping and managing day-to-day tasks
6. Providing personal care, including catheter care for one individual
7. Offering 1:1 support tailored to individual needs
8. Encouraging independence and choice in daily living
This role is rewarding and varied, requiring reliability, flexibility, and a caring approach.
About the People We Support
You will be supporting two gentlemen with:
9. Mild learning disabilities
10. Independent living skills with some support needs
11. Health needs, including catheter care (training provided)
Shift Pattern
This role involves split shifts across 3 days per week.
Example shift patterns include:
12. 8:00am – 9:15am
13. 1:00pm – 2:00pm
14. 4:00pm – 8:15pm
OR
15. 8:00am – 9:15am
16. 1:00pm – 2:00pm
17. 4:00pm – 7:45pm
Weekend shifts are slightly longer.
Flexibility is essential due to the nature of the rota.
Training & Development
You will receive full training, including:
18. Induction programme
19. Medication training
20. Moving & Assistance
21. Personal care (including catheter care)
22. Online learning modules
23. Shadow shifts with experienced staff
Requirements
24. Must be able to work split shifts
25. Ideally live locally to Broxburn
26. Willingness to provide personal care
27. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
28. A caring, respectful, and reliable nature
