Job Overview
Due to retirement an exciting opportunity has arisen in the Countywide Adult Eating Disorder Team in our beautiful county of Cornwall! If you are passionate about working alongside adults struggling with eating disorders in Cornwall, are dynamic, innovative and have a desire to be part of an integrated service that meets the holistic needs of adult patients, then this post could be for you.
The team is seeking a committed Highly Specialist Clinical Psychologist to provide complex psychological care planning, assessment, consultation and clinical supervision. Clinical Psychologists (Band 8a) play an integral role in delivering high‑complexity, evidence‑based interventions, trauma‑informed care, shared decision‑making and service development.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide complex integrated psychological interventions for clients with Anorexia Nervosa and related disorders.
* Deliver complex assessment and integrative formulation of eating disorder cases.
* Provide consultation to other professionals both inside and outside the team.
* Offer clinical supervision and develop learners in practice.
* Support the Adult Eating Disorder team through innovation aligned with ICA objectives.
* Participate in service development, clinical pathway design and clinical leadership activities.
Qualifications
* Post‑graduate training (doctoral level equivalent) in clinical, counselling or forensic psychology, accredited by the BPS.
* HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist.
* Evidenced continuing professional development via BPS and HCPC requirements.
Desirable
* ACAT accredited CAT/CBT therapist or supervisor.
* Training and experience with psychometrics such as WAIS, ADOS, PDS, PAI.
* Experience of service development, pathway design, and clinical leadership.
* Specialised experience in eating disorder therapies, particularly CAT or CBT.
Experience (Essential)
* Substantial post‑qualification clinical experience with a variety of client groups, including trauma and personality issues, and delivering supervision.
* Experience conducting complex assessment and integrative formulation.
* Experience applying research design and methodology in mental health care settings.
Experience (Desirable)
* Service development and clinical pathway design.
* Specialised psychological therapies for eating disorders and trauma, preferably CAT or CBT.
