Teaching Assistant - 1:1 SEN Support (Full-Time)

Location: Cwmbran

Salary: £89.38 per day

Contract Type: Full-time, Monday to Friday

About the Role

Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting for a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child within a Special Educational Needs (SEN) provision. This is a full-time role, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the life of a young person requiring additional behavioural and emotional support.


Key Responsibilities

* Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with SEN and challenging behaviours
* Implement strategies to manage and de-escalate behaviour appropriately
* Assist in delivering structured and tailored learning under the direction of the class teacher and SENCO
* Encourage the pupil's engagement, confidence, and emotional development
* Maintain clear communication with teaching staff, parents, and external professionals as required
* Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment


Candidate Requirements

* Proven experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs, particularly behavioural needs
* Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies
* Ability to remain calm, patient, and consistent under pressure
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* A proactive and compassionate approach to support
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply through Teaching Personnel)
* Right to work in the UK

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
