The Flexi Group are now recruiting HGV Class 2 Refuse Drivers for an immediate start in the Brighton and Hove area.
Working with the council we are now looking for drivers for an immediate start. This is a Monday-Friday position, starts usually around 0600/0700, shifts around 10-12 hours.
Job Role
Responsible for driving a Class 2 vehicle and operating the machinery for the refuse loading
Taking responsibility for the safety of your team
Reporting any issues to the Transport team, including vehicle and machinery concerns and faults, missed collection reasons and any issues encountered on the route
Collecting and emptying commercial and residential waste and recycling refuse bins
Happy to load when requirements dictate, requiring coverage on foot of long distances
Guiding the driver in crowded areas and through tight situations
Attending training as required to remain compliant with Health and Safety regulations
Comply with regular DVLA checks
Adherence to all regulations
A site induction and full training of the job role will be provided with familiarisation of the local areas.
Requirements:
A full and valid Class 2 LGV/HGV vehicle licence
Have no more than 6 points on your licence
Valid digital tacho card
Valid CPC card
Have a minimum of one years' experience driving a class 2 vehicle in the UK
Being personable as you will be working amongst the local community
Able to lift heavy objects, including pushing and pulling refuse and recycling bins
Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Previous experience of driving a refuse lorry is preferred but not essential.
Pay Rates
Days 06:00 to 20:00 £16.26 per hour (£18.22 with holiday pay).
Saturday Day: £24.39 per hour (£27.33 with holiday pay)
BH days: £32.52 per hour (£36.44 with holiday pay)
