Department Overview
This secondary school is seeking a Computer Science Teacher who can deliver engaging, well‑structured lessons across KS3 and KS4, supporting students to develop essential digital skills, logical thinking, and computational problem‑solving.
The role requires a teacher who can balance theory with application, ensuring students understand both the concepts behind computing and their practical use in real‑world contexts.
Responsibilities
Teach Computer Science across KS3 and KS4
Deliver lessons covering algorithms, programming, data representation, and computer systems
Introduce students to coding using age‑appropriate programming languages
Support students in developing resilience and perseverance when solving problems
Plan lessons that build skills progressively over time
Monitor student progress using assessment data
Prepare KS4 students for GCSE assessments
Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom focus
Required Skills
Experience teaching Computer Science or ICT at secondary level
Strong subject knowledge and ability to explain concepts clearly
Confident classroom and behaviour management
Organised approach to planning and assessment
Willingness to contribute to curriculum development
