Reporting to the Environmental and Sustainability Manager, the Environmental and Sustainability Specialist (Senior Environmental Advisor) will play a key role in implementing Telent's Sustainability Strategy, supporting Business Units to meet waste and carbon reduction objectives, customer expectations, ISO14001 standards, and legal requirements across our Rail and Asset Management divisions. This role involves up to 50% UK-wide travel.
What You’ll Do:
* Provide expert guidance to EHS teams and project leads on environment and sustainability to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory standards.
* Support risk management by establishing environmental assurance regimes, including audit programs, through inspections and audits.
* Assist in preparing sustainability and carbon reduction plans for contracts and bids.
* Develop and maintain performance data and generate carbon management reports for clients and internal use.
* Conduct regular reviews of environmental aspects and impacts within Business Units, including climate change risk assessments.
* Support project teams to embed sustainable and carbon-reduction practices throughout the project lifecycle.
Who You Are:
You have experience in a similar Environmental & Sustainability role within industries such as Rail, Telecoms, Utilities, or Construction.
Key Requirements:
* Minimum qualification: PIEMA
* ISO14001:2015 Lead Auditor certification
* Proven experience providing technical sustainability and environmental advice
* Track record of reducing environmental impacts of equipment and infrastructure across product lifecycles
* Experience managing complex technical projects and change initiatives
* Full driving license and flexibility for UK-wide travel
