VAT (Indirect Tax) ManagerIn a nutshell

What you'll be doing day to day
1. Oversee a portfolio ofplex clients, managing VAT, indirect tax, and/or customspliance and advisory work
2. Lead and coordinateplex assignments, drawing on input from specialist teams as needed
3. Review team outputs, ensuring quality, accuracy, and proper documentation
4. Respond to client queries on VAT and/or customs issues, resolving them or escalating to Directors/Partners
5. Identify tax planning opportunities and present rmendations to senior leadership
6. Ensurepliance with internal policies and risk management procedures
7. Prepare budgets and fee proposals; monitor and manage fee recovery
8. Act as a key liaison for clients and collaborate with colleagues across departments to deliver excellent service
9. Support business development by identifying opportunities with new and existing clients
10. Manage team resourcing, delegate work effectively, and ensure deadlines are met
11. Provide coaching and feedback to junior team members, including regular 1:1s and performance reviews
12. Promote ESG initiatives, including environmental awareness andmunity engagement
13. Uphold values of fairness, transparency, and respect in all professional interactions
About you
14. CTA and/or ACA/ACCA qualified (or qualified by experience); CTA study supports available
15. Strong experience in public practice, with the ability to manage a VAT client portfolio
16. Proven track record in handlingplex VAT assignments
17. Skilled in tax software and advanced use of Excel, Word, and Outlook
18. Excellent verbal and writtenmunication skills
19. Strong relationship-building abilities with clients and colleagues
20. Strategic thinker withmercial awareness and sound judgement
21. Proactive, self-motivated, and solutions focused
22. Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and resources effectively
