Rate of Pay: £34.00 - £44.87 per hour
Summary:
The Senior Compliance Officer will play a key role within the Development Management team, investigating and resolving breaches of planning control, including complex and high-profile cases. The role involves working closely with applicants, developers, residents, and internal teams to ensure compliance with planning regulations while supporting enforcement initiatives and public engagement across the Borough.
Responsibilities:
* Investigate and resolve alleged breaches of planning control, including complex cases
* Ensure developments comply with approved plans and planning conditions
* Liaise with Team Leader and Development Manager on high-profile investigations
* Conduct site visits, gather evidence, and interview stakeholders including members of the public and landowners
* Research site histories and assess plans and supporting documentation
* Negotiate compliance and appropriate enforcement actions
Essentials:
* Significant experience in planning enforcement and related procedures
* Experience conducting site investigations, evidence gathering, and interviews
* Ability to read and interpret technical plans and drawings
* Strong knowledge of planning legislation and guidance (including PACE and RIPA)
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
