We are currently seeking a Project Engineer (Mechanical) for a client based near Immingham, North East Lincolnshire. This is a temporary contract, for ad-hoc projects, working on a PAYE basis.
Job role
Assisting existing Maintenance Engineering team to safely and cost-effectively deliver multiple infrastructure improvement projects that are approved spend Q1 2019 onwards.
Infrastructure improvement projects the successful candidate will likely be involved in includes:-
* Floating roof tank roof &/or shell replacement
* Pipeline repairs / replacement underground, over water and over land
* Enhancement / creation of improved site drainage systems
* Marine loading arm replacement
And may include:-
* Overland and Jetty Pipeline painting programmes
* Over water fire system & product pipework renewal
The role will involve working closely with existing maintenance and operations teams, while striving to ensure minimum disruption to the core activities and requirements of the team and regular contractor group - which will require the candidate to be resourceful, self starting and confident in their own ability. The candidate will need to draw on a wealth of experience and contacts from the local area, either from existing suppliers to the client or from personal knowledge, to achieve the end objective.
This is a co-ordination role with technical decisions supported by the Engineering Manager or engineering consultants as necessary. The candidate will need to be able to balance Safety & Environmental requirements, with operational constraints, whilst driving the timely completion of the necessary stages of each project in a coordinated, cost effective and sympathetic manner.
The candidate will need to be able to keep satisfactory records of work done in keeping with the clients project management systems, and ensure associated related records are updated as necessary.
The candidate will need to be able to track spending and work within budget limits - although ultimate cost control responsibility will remain with Engineering Manager.
Background/ Person
* Project or Maintenance Engineering background Mechanical
* Refinery / Petrochem experience useful. Especially
o Tank maintenance / repair
o Pipeline and Pipework replacement / installation
o Effluent / waste water treatment
* Marine experience not essential, but an advantage
* Demonstrable experience at managing projects from cradle to grave of projects GBP10k to GBP1M value
o Scoping requirements (incl. obtaining & reviewing design information where required)
o Writing specifications
o Tendering
o Site Management
* Self-starter
* Problem Solver / Solution provider
* Ideally Degree qualified + relevant experience, but will accept HNC/HND + significant levels of relevant experience.
Skills
* Computer literate
o MS office (Word & Excel) essential
o CAD, MS Project desirable
o CMMS & Procurement software skills useful
* Full clean driving licence
* Good time management and work prioritisation skills.
