About the Role
Southwark’s Educational Psychology Service is seeking highly motivated and skilled Educational Psychologists to join the team and play a key role in delivering high quality services to children, young people, and families across Southwark. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work full-time, part-time, and explore flexible working arrangements. We invite applications from fully qualified Educational Psychologists as well as Trainee Educational Psychologists who are expected to complete their training in 2024 or 2025.
In this role you will deliver evidence‑informed, high‑quality psychological services, working closely with schools, early years, and further education settings to ensure that interventions are delivered to high standards for maximum impact. You will share our commitment to integrated working and constant innovation.
About the Team
Our supportive and friendly team offers excellent opportunities for career and professional development. The team has strong links to doctoral training courses and is engaged in dynamic, innovative practice at organisational, group and individual levels, including joint working with the Virtual School, opportunities to train in VIG, SCERTS, PATHs, emotion coaching and dynamic assessment, a parent consultation service, and delivery of ELSA training.
About You
We are looking for enthusiastic and collaborative educational psychologists with a background in applying psychology to meet the needs of vulnerable children and young people. They should have strong skills in psychological consultation, assessment, intervention, research, team working and training delivery. Good communication skills, knowledge of appropriate legislation, guidance and policies, and the ability to balance an unpredictable workload are essential. Applicants must demonstrate competence in working within a diverse context, as Southwark is renowned for its cultural, ethnic and linguistic diversity.

Additional Salary Details
We currently have permanent and fixed‑term posts available. Both full and part‑time opportunities are on offer to the successful candidates. The salary scale is Soulbury Salary Scale A 3-8 (under review, all new starters will be offered SCP5) plus up to 3 SPA points and an Inner London Allowance. Salary range: £50,627 - £61,848 per annum.
