FTC 6 Months
Full time 37.5 hours
Salary: £56,000 to £70,000 per annum DOE

As a Category Manager, you’ll play a key role in shaping how we source and manage goods and services across the business. Your work will help ensure we deliver value, quality and sustainability, supporting the delivery of safe and effective healthcare.
You’ll work with a wide range of stakeholders and suppliers, helping to build strong relationships and deliver strategic sourcing decisions. This is a great opportunity to influence change, improve outcomes and contribute to meaningful work in a purpose-led organisation.
How you’ll help us make health happen
As a Category Manager, you will:
1. Develop and execute category strategies that result in supplier rationalisation and consolidate spend with strategic partners.
2. Identify opportunities to eliminate low-value or high-risk suppliers and transition to a more efficient supplier base.
3. Analyse spend data, and demand patterns to inform rationalisation decisions
4. Influence and guide colleagues through supplier consolidation process.
5. Develop and execute transition plans to move business from incumbent to preferred suppliers with minimal disruption.
6. Track and report savings, benefits delivery, and supplier reduction targets
Key skills/qualifications needed for this role
We’re looking for a Category Manager who:
7. Has experience in procurement, category management or strategic sourcing
8. Demonstrates strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
9. Can build effective relationships with stakeholders and suppliers
10. Has good analytical skills and can use data to inform decisions
11. Is organised and able to manage multiple priorities
12. Communicates clearly and confidently
13. Holds a relevant qualification (e.g. CIPS) or equivalent experience
Experience in regulated sectors (such as healthcare or financial services) would be helpful but is not essential.
