Principal Systems Engineer – Fire Control Radar
Location: Edinburgh (On-site)
Contract Type: Inside IR35
Clearance: SC Clearance required
Duration: 6 months
We are seeking a Principal Systems Engineer with significant radar domain knowledge to join a high-profile defence project in Edinburgh. This role is suited to systems-thinkers who enjoy working across the lifecycle of complex, integrated solutions.
You will play a critical role in the development and delivery of advanced Fire Control Radar capabilities, supporting a major UK defence programme.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead systems engineering activities across the design and development lifecycle
* Engage in problem definition and solution architecture
* Develop models, simulations, and performance predictions
* Participate in system integration, verification and validation activities
* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on technical direction and delivery
We are particularly interested in individuals with experience in one or more of the following:
* Problem Definition & Systems Architecture
* Synthetic Environments and Real-Time Data Simulation/Generation
* Performance Modelling
* Verification and Validation
* System of Systems integration
* Digital Signal Processing and RF Systems
* Multi-sensor Data Fusion and Tracking
1. Skills & Experience:
* Proven track record working on complex radar or defence-related systems
* Strong systems engineering methodology knowledge
* Ability to lead or contribute to technical decision-making across teams
* SC Clearance (or eligible and willing to undergo clearance)
