The post holder will have the opportunity to work within the Strategic Transport Team, leading on transport decarbonisation projects and schemes to assist in public transport expansion as well as having the chance to contribute actively to transformative regional projects. There will be a chance to contribute significantly to the development and preparation of strategic plans, transport funding applications, strategic business cases for major projects. You will be expected to liaise with many and varied stakeholders, developing lasting and positive relationships on behalf of the Council, and have the change to help identify ways to help deliver on Council’s transport and planning policies. Excellent communications skills, and the ability to organise and manage a very varied workload in the face of competing priorities are both essential requirements for the post holder, together with well-developed IT skills. A degree in a relevant subject is essential, coupled with a genuine interest in, and experience of transport planning, particularly in relation to sustainable transport and infrastructure. A relevant post degree qualification and membership of an applicable professional body is also desirable.
