The governors of Johnston Community Primary School are looking to appoint a dynamic and inspiring teaching deputy headteacher. We wish to appoint a leader who is talented, innovative, committed and a proven excellent practitioner who has a passion for inclusive education and who will support our successful LRC Provision.
Johnston C.P School is currently in a soft collaboration with a small primary school.
The successful candidate will:
be an enthusiastic, inspirational, innovative leader with proven track record of excellent practice in teaching and learning
understand the importance of creating a knowledge rich curriculum
have a deep understanding of the pedagogy to support pupils development
support a core focus on standards and supporting pupils to thrive academically
demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills
inspire every individual to try their best
clear understanding of current key national and local developments
be committed to maintaining high standards and continuous improvement
maintain, develop and nurture partnerships between pupils, parents/carers, staff, governors and the wider community
implement a shared vision for the ongoing development of this successful primary school
The pupils of Johnston Primary School are looking for a deputy headteacher who:

will work well with all of our teachers

All shortlisted candidates will be observed teaching prior to interview during the week beginning March 2nd 2026.
